Our story

Built by hand, with deep respect for the land

Our family built this island homestead over several years with our own hands, using hardwoods harvested from the land. Every structure has warmth, charm and character. Simple, rustic and functional, built with a deep respect for the environment.

We've poured our lives into making it productive, resilient, and welcoming. Selling is a difficult decision, but a new opportunity requires us to move closer to the city. We hope the next owners will love and appreciate everything this land has given us.

"For people who value nature, privacy, independence and real self-sufficiency, and who want a meaningful lifestyle."

The region

Why buy property in Bocas del Toro, Panama?

The Bocas del Toro archipelago is a chain of jungle-covered islands off Panama's Caribbean coast, known for its beaches, surf breaks, coral reefs and laid-back island towns. Waterfront here still costs a fraction of what similar land goes for in Costa Rica, Belize or the eastern Caribbean, and Panama has a stable, dollar-based economy, easy residency programs and no restrictions on foreign property ownership.

Isla Solarte sits in the calm, protected heart of the archipelago, minutes from Bocas Town's supermarkets, restaurants, hospital and airport. It is close enough for convenience and far enough for real privacy. The town airport is being expanded, interest in off-grid and eco-tourism properties grows every year, and titleable waterfront land with working infrastructure is getting hard to find.

Common questions

FAQ: buying property in Bocas del Toro

Honest answers to the questions buyers ask us most. Have another? Just ask.

Can foreigners buy property in Bocas del Toro, Panama?

Yes. Panama gives foreigners the same property rights as citizens, and Bocas del Toro has a large international community of owners. Most buyers work with a local real-estate attorney to handle due diligence and the transfer. We can recommend experienced lawyers in Bocas Town who work in English.

What is ROP (Right of Possession) title and is it safe?

Right of Possession is a recognized form of land tenure in Panama, common on the islands of Bocas del Toro. This property's ROP is well documented and the land is titleable, meaning it can be converted to full registered title. While held as ROP there are no annual property taxes. A local attorney verifies the possession rights as part of any purchase.

What is included in the $480,000 price?

The sale is turn-key: 4.85 acres with 260 ft of waterfront, three tiny houses, kitchen and dining building, greenhouse, barn, two bathrooms, the 60-ft deep-water dock, a 19-ft boat with a 40 hp Yamaha engine, and all solar, water and internet systems, plus furniture and appliances. The established plant nursery business and the farm animals can be included as well.

How do I get to the property and how can I visit?

Fly 45 minutes from Panama City to Bocas del Toro (BOC), then it is a 10-minute boat ride from Bocas Town to the property on Isla Solarte. To arrange a visit, message us on WhatsApp or email sale@soulfire.farm. We usually reply within 30 minutes and are happy to pick you up in town.

Does the property have power, water and internet?

Yes, the property is fully off-grid and self-sufficient. A 3.5 kW solar array with a 15 kWh battery bank and backup generator supplies power, a 48,000-litre wetlands reservoir and 50,000 sq ft of rain catchment supply water (zero droughts in over a decade), and Starlink satellite internet with a UniFi mesh network keeps you connected.

Can the property generate income?

Yes. The sale can include a profitable, established plant nursery with existing clients, an e-commerce website and a 250+ member client list. With three separate cabins, a communal kitchen and a private dock, it also works well as an eco-lodge, retreat center or vacation rental, and the land can be subdivided.
